So my article, again by Clarence Page, is about what he thinks about Karl Rove standing up against Donald Trump for hosting the GOP presidencial candidate election. He explains Karls point first to lessen the assumptions becuause we have all heard of DOnald Trump, but not him, so if he was to say his POV second, it would lessen the effect. He also says that Trump hosting the elections makes a mockery out of "the most important decision to americans". He also makes fun of Trump by showing that Trump him self was " basically... a loser". He also criticizes americans for not caring about politics, so to care, we must throw in show biz. He gives analogies with  famous judges on hit reality shows saying satirical things making fun of government.

So new person on the opinions because it turns out that my other person doesn't write weekly so here goes!!! SO my new person, Clarence Page, is writing about the upcoming election and how he believes that the tea party is destroying itself by electing Newt Gingrich as their presidential candidate because electing him is hypocritical in the sense that people like him are the ones that the tea party want out of office. He makes the point that Gingrich has done what the tea party rages against ( giving money to businesses etc.). And since Gingrich did support the bill then the tea partiers should be blaming him for financial crisis, not electing him. He also seems to be insulting to all the candidates by calling this upcoming election an american idol audition

 My article is an opinion by Jeff Libman from the Chicago tribune. He write about the level of direstpect in chicago class rooms. He starts by criticizing the students by calling them "normal" in their level of respect compared to children in third world countries. That's ironic because we should be expected to be more respectful because fortunate people like us have more resources. His second point is that the school board is demeaning the roles of teachers by a new law requiring them to serve breakfast (thus turning an educator into that of a waiter). Libman also criticizes them by tell the audience about the pay cuts they take and the longer hours they work.  His fourth point is how the principles would recieve a bonus if their school makes it to a certain standard, while the teacher recieve nothing. Not one penny. I think this is unfair. IT's not right that is the kids won't show them respect, the school board won't either...

My opinion

My opinion is that pride parades should be allowed. Although the opposing views do seems surreal (why can't we have a straight pride, and it's occasionally vulgar), it is something that the gay community holds close to it's heart. My father won't let me go to the pride parades for those reasons, and I really want to go. And even though I have never gone I am proud that people like me are able to  show their unity and support for each other. That is really all it is about support and unity. I feel that the people not wanting the parades are also trying to gain unity but what they are fight for is backwards logic. By not allowing pride parades, there would be a huge disconnect between people.

This article is about the pride parade in San Francisco about a 4 straight firemen were forced to attend the pride parade by their superiors. All men had a moral objection to homosexuality and were sexually harassed by the crowd and other LGBTQ people in the parade. This article makes it seem like these men were victimized for hating. It sympathizes with the men when the real moral would have said whatever it is no big deal, and join the parade. These men should be ashamed of themselves for even have view against homosexuality. Really there is nothing wrong with it.
And the jury stated that these men were right. That isn't right though... it's not justice.

Opposing Sides week three

So again with Pride Parades, extremists who are very against this topic usually are in favor for a straight parade. Most Gays think that this is a mockery because they aren't minority and when was the last time we heard of a man beaten to death because he was straight? The straight pride would be held just for the hell of having one because they don't like that Gay people like to express that they are gay. They think that they should be allowed to show the same pride of being straight. Yes that is valid, but when being straight is the socially accepted norm, there really isn't any need for one.

So again with the Subject of Pride Parades, many people are in favor for them. Mostly gays, and other allies. We think that it is an expression of our pride which it is. For years homosexuals and other LGBTQ people have been made fun of, attacked, ridiculed, and even killed and we can't help but feel that we truely are the minority no one cares about. This pride states that we have eachother and we don't have to hide or pretend to match a certian standard. Because we are our own people. That is what it comes down to.

So this week i decided to analyze the gay pride parades and what they actually mean. To some it is a harmless celebration of sexualities with friends and families. A place to feel safe and at home. On the opposing views they beleive it is a "vulgar" display of sin, drunkenness, and licentious individuals cross dressing and hooking up while walking down a street half naked. In this article, while trying to be objective, they criticize the event as promoting inappropriate behavior (especially drunkenness).

Visual Analysis

 This is one of my personal favorites. It is by Robert Doisneau. It was taken in the 1950's and is called
 Le Baiser de l'hotel de ville.  This is a photograph of 2 people kissing in the bust streets of Paris. I love how everything is rushing around these two individuals which makes them stick out. It is so simplistic and beautiful.
The contrast in light creates a light feeling about the photo that make the photo have a loving tone.

So my article was about the French IMF minister, Dominique Strauss- Kahn. Earlier this year he was charged with attempted rape by a New York Hotel Maid in the United States. After months of trials, the French minister has returned home. The trial was the effect of the allegations made by the maid against Kahn. Kahn was found guilty on 7 charges, but the New York Judge waived the sexual assault charge.

Now the police are questioning him. The editorial says that the French are praising Kahn and his will to overcome the American Legal System and the author is outraged by the praise.
